Dakota County District Court Locations

Dakota County operates three court locations to serve its large and growing population in the southern Twin Cities metro. The main courthouse in Hastings is the primary location for all filings and most hearings. The Western and Northern service centers handle day-to-day court functions for residents who live closer to Apple Valley and West St. Paul.

The 1st Judicial District covers seven counties: Carver, Dakota, Goodhue, Le Sueur, McLeod, Scott, and Sibley. It is one of the busiest courts in Minnesota, with 36 judges and more than 250 staff handling over 95,000 cases annually.
